The phototherapeutic keratectomy is also performed with an
Excimer laser.
The PTK procedure is indicated when other treatment methods have failed
or will fail and for the following conditions:
 scars on the
surface of the cornea
recidivous
corneal erosions
dystrophy and
degeneration of the corneal surface
the desire
to smoothen irregularities of the corneal surface
